Hi everyone, Gina here to share a little step-by-step using some products I've been having fun with lately.. They include: gesso, glimmer mists and acrylic paint dabbers.. You will also need a paint brush and white gel pen and some plain chipboard shapes such as these Jenni Bowlin Studio buttons. JBS hexagons would also work well!
Materials:
So to start off, I have coated 4 buttons with gesso and left to dry for about 10 minutes..
Then I've 'swiped' the paint dabbers (eg. 'lemon drops', seed packet' and 'weather vane') across the top, giving a couple of coats and left to dry.
You can incorporate more colour by dabbing some paint on scrap paper then lightly dabbing the button upside down onto the paint..
Another way is to add a few drops a mist/ink bottle and letting it run into the paint (you can see this better in the 2nd photo down)
I've used a 'turquoise blue' glimmer mist here
Now let the buttons dry thoroughly...being careful not to handle them too much or the edges may split..
Now hand-write some script using a white gel pen.. I listen to music while scrapping so generally write the song lyrics as i go :)
Here are the 4 completed buttons..ready to scrap with, or use or cards..they're also flat enough to use on your art journal pages..
I chose to use 3 of the buttons on this layout..
This one is tucked slightly under the photo..
